Overview

Aqua on the Levee required the installation of 14 chargers in a gated parking facility in Kentucky. The project presented a unique logistical model: the implementation manager was based in Florida, hundreds of miles away. By leveraging the partnership between EVoke Systems and Fractal EV, the project achieved a “revolutionary” deployment model that eliminated the need for on-site management while ensuring precise electrical load safety and data privacy.

The Challenge

The Aqua on the Levee project presented specific operational hurdles:
Geographic Distance: With the project manager located in Florida and the site in Kentucky, traditional commissioning would have incurred significant travel costs.

Grid Constraints: Installing 14 units required strict adherence to electrical capacity limits to prevent tripping the main breakers, a challenge similar to the load constraints faced by large deployments like Barclays Capital.

Data Privacy and Control: The site administrators needed independent control over their specific chargers without accessing or altering data from the reseller’s broader portfolio.

Why EVoke Software was the Right Choice

EVoke’s software was selected to deliver a seamless remote management experience with granular control:

Breaker-Level Load Management

To ensure electrical safety without expensive infrastructure upgrades, the team utilized EVoke’s advanced load management solution. They configured peak load limits directly at the breaker level. This ensured that the 14 chargers dynamically balanced their output to stay within the building’s available capacity, utilizing the same SmartCharge Management System (SMS) technology used to manage Hilltop Village’s complex grid requirements.

Group-Level Access and Security
EVoke provided a hierarchical permission structure. The Aqua on the Levee organization was granted site admin access, allowing them to view analytics related only to their particular site. This feature enabled local staff to manage user requests for privilege codes independently, streamlining the driver onboarding process while maintaining data security.
Remote Provisioning and Visibility
Upon physical installation, the manager remotely activated the SIM cards and immediately verified signal strength. The integration allowed the electrical contractor to “energize and walk away,” reducing labor hours significantly.

Impact: Operational Excellence

Zero Travel Costs

The site was fully commissioned without the project manager ever leaving Florida.

Safety & Compliance

Automated load capping at the breaker level protects the facility’s electrical infrastructure.

Empowered Local Management

Site admins have autonomous control over their users and data, reducing the administrative burden on the reseller.

90%+ Reduction in Commissioning Time

The project moved from a multi-day configuration process to a 15-minute remote charger commissioning.
